Building Your
New Home

Finding your new home in Utah, California, Nevada, Arizona, Florida, Texas, Minnesota, Colorado, or Washington DC can be an exciting but also an overwhelming process. Before you start to think of where to hang your hat, there are a few things to consider in building your new home.

Each state and division will differ on the actual building processes and procedures. Talk with a sales person for additional information or you can request additional information here: request new home information.

Decide What Style of New House You Want to Call Home
How soon do you wan to move-in? Or are there specific needs or wants that you are looking for in your new home? If you are looking to get into a new home sooner rather than later, you'll want to look for a "spec" or "Quick Delivery " home. These homes offer you all the same benefits of living in a new home, but the initial design and building processes have already been determined for you.

Choose a Lot
Within a Woodside new home community, you'll have the opportunity to choose the location of your home on a specific lot with a specific phase or section of the community development, depending on your state and division. This community may also have specific amenities including: walking trails, clubhouses, pools, golf courses, sports activity centers or other features. You'll want to be sure to get information on the entire neighborhood community. In most cases, lots located close to such attractions as golf courses, clubhouses or lakes maintain a higher resale value.

Selecting and Personalizing Your Home
You'll be selecting a new home from an inventory of existing plans. What style of home do you want? A two-story, single-level? How many bedrooms? How many bathrooms? Use our new home search utility to assist you. Once you've selected a home, you can then personalize it and make it your own. These personalized options can vary per plan and include structural options and other options that include cabinet style, floor coverings, appliance, etc.

Finalize the Sales Contract
The sales contract will specify the options you chose for your home. Reading and going through all the documents may seem like a lot, however, knowledgeable sales individuals will assist you in explaining and answering any questions you may have through the process.

Secure Financing
Determine how much you can afford or how much you want to borrow. A Hillsborough Mortgage Representative will assist you in determining the mortgage program that fits your specified requirements.

Start of Construction
The time of construction depends on the complexity of your home, the availability of construction trades and materials, the weather as well as the building practices and procedures of the state you live in. Woodside will take the necessary steps to complete the construction of your home in a timely manner, while also following the construction guidelines for the community in which your home is being built.
